So you’re a grad student. You may know a whole lot but did you know it’s not too late to get help paying for school?
There are plenty of graduate school fellowships, grants and scholarships available to Fastweb members, many of which with amounts that will make your jaw drop.
These programs are impressive, prestigious and will give you bragging rights when it comes to your academics (not that you don’t have them already). Obtaining one (or more) basically gives you the freedom to study your passion independently.
If interested, make sure to demonstrate your passion to the best of your ability – these programs generally reward those who are truly passionate about their field.
To help better organize your scholarship search, please note that the following awards for graduate students are listed according to deadline, with the earliest deadline appearing at the top of the page. Deadlines that vary will appear at the bottom of the list.
Here are some examples highlighting awards and programs you may want to consider applying for, as a current graduate student:
$10,000 Create Valentines for Older Adults Scholarship

Available to: Maximum Age 25 Years
Award Amount: $10,000
Create handmade Valentine’s Day cards to show an older adult you care and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship. Getting older can be pretty lonely.
In fact, 17% of all American seniors face isolation due to location, disability, or language barriers.
This winter, DoSomething.org and Meals on Wheels are working together, asking young people to make handmade cards to be delivered in person to older adults by local Meals on Wheels.
Not only will you be making a older adult feel connected this Valentine’s Day, participants can earn a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship for school for the first card they make and additional chances for every three cards made after that.
The more cards you make, the more entries you can earn.
There are no essays or minimum GPA required.

$1,000 Make It Happy Scholarship

Create-a-Greeting Card Scholarship Contest

Available to: High School Freshman through Graduate Student, Year 5
Award Amount: $10,000
The Create-A-Greeting Card Scholarship Contest is open to currently enrolled high school and college students in the United States.
To enter, you must design a holiday, get well, or birthday greeting card and submit your work to be judged.
Your photo, art, or graphics submitted must be your own original work and you must be at least 14 years of age to be eligible for this award.

Minorities in Government Finance Scholarship
Deadline: 2/20/15
Available to: College Junior through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: $7, 000
The Minorities In Government Finance Scholarship is open to current full- or part -time upper-division undergraduate and graduate students in public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, political science, economics, or business administration (with a specific focus on government or non-profit management).
Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or Canada and belong to one of the following groups: African-American, Native American, Hispanic, Native Hawaiian, Asian or Pacific Islander.
Applicants are required to submit a recommendation from their academic advisor, department chair (undergraduate applicants), or dean of the graduate program (graduate applicants).

$3k Run a Bake Sale for Refugees Scholarship

Do you care about the youngest victims of the Syrian conflict?
DoSomething.org is giving away a $3K scholarship to a young person who participates in "Bake Sales for Babies" and sets up a bake sale in their school or community.
Contributions will go directly to providing the essentials to babies in the region for the 2015 winter. Why is this important?
Since 2011, Syria has been in turmoil. The civil war has resulted in over 200,000 deaths, approximately three million refugees, and around six and a half million internally displaced people.
The conflict in Syria is complicated, geographically distant, and hard to comprehend in its enormity and devastation.
Bake Sales for Babies zeroes in on specific, solvable problems within the larger conflict and provides young Americans a simple way to engage and impact the issue.
No essay or minimum GPA required.

ALA Spectrum Scholarship

Available to: 1st Year Graduate Students
Award Amount: $5,000
Provided by the American Library Association, the Spectrum Scholarship is open to graduate students at ALA-accredited or recognized master's degree programs in library and information studies or school library media.
You cannot have completed more than a third of the credit requirements for your degree at the time of the award (June 1).
To be eligible for this award, you must be a member of one of the underrepresented groups in the library profession: American Indian/Alaska Native, Black/African-American, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, or Latino/Hispanic.
Only U.S. and Canadian citizens are eligible.

Kress Interpretive Fellowship

Available to: Graduate Students, Year 1 through Year 5
Award Amount: $30,000
The Kress Interpretive Fellowship is available to graduate students pursuing an advanced degree in art history, studio art, and museum studies.
Fellows are offered training in interpretation in European art as a museum educator or curator at an American art museum.
Those who have completed an M.A. degree in one of the aforementioned fields are also eligible to apply.

AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students

Available to: Graduate Students, Year 3 through Year 5
Award Amount: $12,000
Provided by the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants, the AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students is available to minority students who have applied to or have been accepted to or currently enrolled in a full-time doctoral program.
To be eligible, you must be a CPA or plan to pursue the CPA credential, and have earned a master's degree in accounting and / or have completed a minimum of three years full-time experience in the practice of accounting.
Recipients must agree not to work full-time in a paid position, accept responsibility for teaching more than one course per semester as a teaching assistant, or dedicate more than one quarter of your time as a research assistant.

General Lemuel C. Shepherd, Jr. Memorial Dissertation Fellowship

Available to: Graduate Students, Year 3 through Year 5
Award Amount: $10,000
The General Lemuel C. Shepherd, Jr. Memorial Dissertation Fellowship is available to graduate students working on a doctoral dissertation pertinent to Marine Corps history.
Topics in U.S. military and naval history, as well as history of the United States Marine Corps will be considered.
You must be enrolled in a recognized graduate school, have completed all requirements for the doctoral degree except the dissertation by September, and have an approved, pertinent dissertation topic to be eligible for this award.

Health Professions Scholarship Program

Award Amount: 100% of tuition
The Health Professions Scholarship Program from the U.S. Army Medical Department is open to full-time students enrolled in a graduate-level health care degree program in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
You must be a U.S. citizen and qualify as a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve to be eligible for this award.

D.J. Lovell Scholarship

Award Amount: $11,000
The D.J. Lovell Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are studying optical science and engineering.
Fields of study may include optics, photonics, imaging, optoelectronics and other related disciplines.
You must also be a student member of SPIE (International Society for Optical Engineering) to be eligible for this award.

William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students

Provided by the Aspen Institute, the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students is available to minority undergraduate and graduate students.
You must have a background in the social sciences or humanities and have excellent writing and communication skills to be eligible for this award.
Winners of this award will participate in an internship for 12 to 15 weeks during the summer at a Washington, DC, office of the Aspen Institute.

Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program

Provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program is available to graduate-level students, particularly females and minorities who are interested in independent research in oceanography, marine biology or maritime archaeology.
You must be a U.S. citizen currently pursuing or intending to pursue a masters or doctoral level degree in oceanography, marine biology, or maritime archaeology and must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award.
Priority will be given to applicants who are interested in studying fisheries and coastal ecosystems; coastal navigation, hazard response and management; and geological dynamics and biogeochemical cycles.

The Communicative Disorders Scholarship is available to graduate students who are studying speech language pathology and/or audiology.
You must be studying at a college or university in the United States, be a U.S. citizen, and have a minimum 3.2 GPA to be eligible for this award.

Pedro Zamora Public Policy Fellowship

Provided by Aids Actions, the Pedro Zamora Public Policy Fellowship is open to young professionals, undergraduate and graduate students who seek experience in HIV-related public policy and government affairs.
You must have strong research, writing and organizational skills and a willingness to work in a professional office. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is critical.
Familiarity with HIV-related issues and the legislative process is preferred. People of color, women, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals, and HIV positive individuals are encouraged to apply.

The National Gallery of Art Conservation Fellowship is open to art conservation graduate students with no more than five years of work experience.
You must be interested in the examination and treatment of works of art. Fellows will focus on two aspects: treatment of the collection and research that culminates in a published paper.
This is a three-year fellowship.
