Scholarships come in all varieties – race, ethnicity and, of course, gender.
Many celebrate fierce females by awarding remarkable women in certain fields of study or through various organizations which focus on different aspects, such as women’s studies, the empowerment of women and endowments specifically left to female students.
To help better organize your scholarship search, please note that the following awards for female students are listed according to deadline, with the earliest deadline appearing at the top of the page. Deadlines that vary will appear at the bottom of the list. As deadlines pass, opportunities will be refreshed as often as possible.

Monticello College Foundation Fellowship for Women
Deadline: 1/15/15
Available To: Graduate Students, Year 4 through Year 5
Award: Varies
The Monticello College Foundation Fellowship for Women is open to postdoctoral women in the early stages of their academic career.
Your work must give clear promise of scholarly activity.
This fellowship offers five to six months of research, writing and participation in the intellectual life at the Newberry Library.
Preference is given to proposals concerned with the study of women.

Association of Women in Mathematics Essay Contest
Deadline: 1/31/15
Available To: High School Freshman through College Senior
Award: Varies
The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) Essay Contest on Biographies of Contemporary Women in Mathematics is open to all students in three categories: grades 6-8, grades 9-12, and college undergraduates.
Your essay must be primarily based on an interview with a woman currently working in a mathematical career and be approximately 500 to 1000 words in length.
The winning essays will be posted on the AWM web page and the grand prize winner will have his or her essay published in the AWM Newsletter.

Delayed Education Scholarship for Women
Deadline: 2/01/15
Available To: College Sophomore through College Senior
Award: Varies
The Delayed Education Scholarship for Women is open to mature female undergraduate students whose undergraduate studies have been delayed.
You must be majoring in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field to be considered for this award.

Women’s Environmental Council Scholarship
Deadline: 2/01/15
Available To: College Freshman through Graduate Student, Year 2
Award: $1,000
The Women's Environmental Council Scholarship is available to female undergraduate and graduate students who are attending school in Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties in California.
You must be interested in pursuing a career in the environmental field and have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be considered for this award.
Eligible majors include, but are not limited to: architecture, biology, chemistry, environmental science, ecology, engineering, forestry, geology, or urban planning.

Chrysler Foundation Scholarship
Deadline: 2/16/15
Available To: College Sophomore through College Senior
Award: $2,500
The Chrsyler Foundation Scholarship is open to female undergraduate students majoring in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science.
You must be accepted into an ABET-accredited program and have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award.
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Judith Resnik Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: 2/16/15
Available To: College Sophomore through College Senior
Award: $3,000
The Judith Resnik Memorial Scholarship is open to female sophomore, junior, and senior students majoring in astronautical engineering and aeronautical / aerospace engineering.
You must be accepted into an ABET-accredited program to be eligible for this award.

STEM Scholarship for Women
Deadline: 4/15/15
Available To: College Freshman through Graduate Student, Year 5
Award: $2,000
The STEM Scholarship for Women is available to female undergraduate and graduate students majoring in a STEM field.
You must be a U.S. citizen, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and rank within the top 30 percent of your class and have the minimum following standardized test scores in order to qualify for this award: SAT-Math of 600, Composition/Reading of 500 and ACT-Math of 29 and English of 25.

Lifetime Adoption Foundation Scholarship
Deadline: Rolling
Available To: College Freshman to Graduate Year 5
Award: Varies
The Lifetime Adoption Foundation Scholarship is available to birth mothers who have placed a child for adoption any time after 1990.
You must be able to present verification of finalization from the adoption professional that handled the adoption.
Women that have placed a child for adoption through Lifetime Adoption Center are given priority.
In addition, you must be drug-free, have a minimum 2.0 GPA, and show proof of part- or full-time enrollment, or intention of enrollment in an accredited educational or trade institution to be eligible for this award.
An essay is also required.

Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program
Deadline: Rolling
Available To:Graduate Students, Year 1 through Year 5
Award: Varies
The Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program is available to graduate-level students, particularly females and minorities, interested in independent research in oceanography, marine biology or maritime archaeology.
You must be a U.S. citizen currently pursuing or intending to pursue a masters or doctoral level degree in oceanography, marine biology, or maritime archaeology and must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award.
Priority will be given to applicants who are interested in studying fisheries and coastal ecosystems; coastal navigation, hazard response and management; and geological dynamics and biogeochemical cycles.
Applications are found strictly online through Grants.gov, searching for grant announcement NOAA-EPP-MIS-2007-200802.
